The Umber chair is a comfortable modern walnut armchair with crafted arm design detail. Designed to sit comfortably in its own space, the Umber chair offers a low, laid-back sitting position for relaxed enjoyment.
Perfect as a wooden easy chair for a lounge, living room, office or bedroom. The chair’s distinctive angular profile was inspired by the contrasting angles of The Remarkables mountain range in New Zealand’s Southern Alps. This edition of the Umber chair features a shearling sheepskin cover for added comfort.
The curved timber seat has hidden stainless steel arm supports for strength. The Umber chair was a Gold Award winner at the New Zealand Best Design Awards.
The Judges said, "The Umber chair is an iconic, beautifully proportioned and elegantly constructed piece of timber furniture that has the potential to go on to become a New Zealand design ‘classic’."
The judges ‘loved’ the comfort, feel and solidity of the chair. They noted its maturity and timelessness and thought that it could become a piece of furniture that would be passed down through the generations. They noted that Tréology is creating a range of furniture products that balance a New Zealand furniture tradition with innovation and style ”.
