Ripple Table
Description
The Ripple table base was inspired by having fun together as a family and observing the ripple effect on our clear New Zealand waters from the simple pleasure of skimming stones. The base is made from a polished nickel plated steel.
The Ripple live edge slab table is made from rimu, a New Zealand native tree, rescued from a river on the West Coast of the South Island, New Zealand. This sustainable timber, naturally felled by nature, is preserved for hundreds of years under sediment layers before natural water erosion exposes them. We rescue these trees and continue their journey to become a cherished piece of functional art. The river rescued trees have been carbon dated at over 1500 years old.
The trees’ location co-ordinates are inscribed on a stainless steel Tréology tag and attached to the table, connecting the owner to a unique piece of New Zealand nature. The Ripple table is finished with hand rubbed, low V.O.C., natural plant oils to bring the stunning grain to life.
Handmade in Christchurch, New Zealand.
